Tips for a good hair look this winter

Share

This winter, not only chic outfit but also lustrous hair sets you apart from the crowded. However, the dry and dreary weather may damage your hair. To look perfect, you should have the right hair care routine.

This season is a good time for shopping lovers to dress winter pieces. Hoodies, sweaters, scarves,…are streetstyle must-have items.

Soft sweater is considered as a symbol of winter.

Nevertheless, these pieces seem to make hair a static, frizzy mess.

The best way to look charming in winter outfit with smooth hair, you should take the right precautions for hair.

 Controlling frizz

A vented hair brush that has a combination of plastic and boar bristles is a good choice for combing your hair.  Wash your hair only with lukewarm water, as the hot water will strip away the natural oils that protect and nourish your hair. Apply a leave-in conditioner to keep your hair smooth.

Managing your scalp issues

During the winter months, because of the lack moisture in the air your scalp becomes drier and itchier. This leads to dandruff and scalp irritation which causes hair fall. Nevertheless, the dandruff problem can be managed easily with natural ingredients.

All you need is a couple of tablespoon of olive or coconut oil and a teaspoon of lemon juice. Warm the oil for a couple of seconds and then mix it with the lemon juice. Massage the oil into your scalp and leave it in for 20-30 minutes. Rinse it out with the shampoo and condition.

Moreover, you can massage slowly on your scalp with two teaspoons of warm olive oil. This will help to keep your scalp moisturized  and improve blood circulation.

Shine and lustrous

The lack of moisture in the air not only dries out your scalp but also leaves your hair looking dull and lifeless. You can use honey to enhance your damaged hair. Honey is a humectant helps restore shine and lustrous. Brush your hair with a wide-toothed wooden comb to remove tangles and apply raw honey to the length of your hair from the roots to tips. Use a shower cap or towel to cover up your hair and leave it on for about 30 minutes, then wash off with lukewater.

Drying your hair right

As you have known, your hair will completely hurt if you over use blow dryer. However, damp hair and scalps attract a lot of problems like dandruff, breakage and split ends. The best way to protect your hair would be gently squeeze the excess moisture out with a towel and then use a blow dryer on the cool setting. If you are using hot air, you should hold the dryer at least 15cm away from your hair.

Conditioning

Using hair oils and deep conditioning products at least once a week becomes vital for maintaining your hair health. After cleaning your hair with shampoo, make sure you end every wash with a conditioner, applying it from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair. It is important that you focus on the ends because they are the oldest and most damaged parts of your hair. Leave it in for a few minutes and then wash off with cool or lukewarm water. It is advised that you should end a wash with cool water as this will make your hair look more smooth and lustrous.
